The history of this Company is deeply linked to that of Joan of Lestonnac, she is the soul of this Community that is created and evolves to fulfill God's call.
In prayer and in the desire to serve God, she understood: young women were getting lost, it was necessary to reach out to them and in silence she found the answer: to form "An Order unknown in the Church" that intended:
To offer young women who wish to serve the Lord a community with a contemplative-apostolic lifestyle that does not overwhelm their physical strength.
To open schools, under the protection of Mary, our Lady, which would spread her name and influence among the female youth who wanted to be educated there.
Fathers Juan de Bordes SJ and Francisco Raymond SJ also wanted to found a religious Order. They went to visit Juana and with their help they became convinced that the enlightenment she had had was not the result of her imagination but of God's will, and so she began to fulfill this mission. She, who already had the inspiration, dedicated the rest of her life to fulfilling this calling.
