When death comes to your home, there is no time to finish your tasks, nor is there time to wait to decipher everything you feel. There are no goodbyes, no last call, you have no other option but to go and answer it, even if you don't want to see it.
When you meet her head on, you know it's not a "hello" but a goodbye, and that the time you had for love has passed; there's no going back, it's over.
Death left me motionless, my heart froze.
Everything remained in a deafening silence, in stillness and pain… so much pain and disappointment from those I thought would be there but weren't. Although I wanted to die too, I had only one option: to embrace life with all my strength, to break what was freezing me, and to fracture that rigidity. How? With much love, for my mother and my sister, for myself and for art.
Likewise, with much love, I come to invite you to raise our awareness, and help me break this ice that death has thrown me into, and "fly over the event," take on new air, new directions, new people, close cycles. Open myself to spring; to be reborn, one must die.
For this reason, I invite you to the resilience action of my degree project, which I went through alongside my advisor Luz Dary Álzate, who has encouraged this flight and believed in my process with her love.
In honor of the memory of my father Javier Iván Arango and with gratitude for the life of my beautiful Mother.
In immense gratitude to the alma mater who trained me in her classroom as an artist with the critical and thinking capacity to build a country. Universidad de Antioquia Communications Arts UdeA UdeA Assembly Eastern Section
